Method
- Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer and add it to a saucepan with 1 cup of water.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan.
- Simmer the rice for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is soft and fully cooked.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Transfer the rice to a blender or food processor and blend until it is smooth and creamy. (This step is optional if your baby is ready for more texture.)
- Return the rice to the saucepan and add 1/4 cup of breast milk or formula.
- Stir the rice porridge over low heat until it is heated through and creamy.
