Ingredients

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the water and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. Grease a steamer with oil and place it over high heat.
  4. Take a small amount of the mixture and roll it into a small ball, about the size of a golf ball.
  5. Roll the ball in cornstarch to coat it.
  6. Place the ball in the steamer and repeat until all the mixture is used up.
  7. Cover the steamer and steam the rice cakes for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove the rice cakes from the steamer and place them on a plate or baking sheet to cool.
  9. Serve the rice cakes once they have cooled down.
