Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  3. When the seeds start to splutter, add chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
  4. Add chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft and mushy.
  5. Add chopped carrot, potato, and green peas and mix well.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste and mix well.
  7. Add the soaked rice and mix well.
  8. Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
  9. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 3 whistles on high flame.
  10. Switch off the flame and wait for the pressure to release naturally.
  11. Open the lid and mix well.
  12. Your delicious rice bath is ready to serve.

Notes

You can add any vegetables of your choice to this recipe. You can also add some grated coconut or roasted peanuts for some extra flavor and crunch.
