Method

  1. In a saucepan, add the jaggery and water. Heat the mixture until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  2. Once the jaggery has dissolved, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the readymade rice flour and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  4. Add the cooled jaggery mixture to the rice flour mixture and mix well until it forms a smooth dough.
  5. If the dough is too dry, add a little bit of water. If it is too wet, add a little bit of rice flour.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, take a small portion of the dough and shape it into a disc.
  8. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  9. Once the oil is hot, gently slide the shaped dough disc into the oil.

  12. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
  13. Once the adhirasam has cooled down, store it in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Make sure the jaggery is completely dissolved before adding it to the rice flour mixture.
  • If the dough is too dry or too wet, adjust the consistency by adding water or rice flour accordingly.
