- 1/4 cup urad dal flour

- Oil for frying

Method:
- In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, urad dal flour, sesame seeds, red chili powder, asafoetida, and salt. Mix well.
- Add melted butter to the mixture and mix it well with your hands.
- Add water little by little and knead it into a smooth dough. The dough should not be too hard or too soft.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into balls.
- Take a ball and place it on a flat surface. Flatten it with a rolling pin to form a thin disc.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is hot, gently slide the flattened disc into the oil.
- Fry both sides until it turns golden brown and crispy.
- Remove it from the oil using a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Repeat the same process for the rest of the dough balls.
- Store the thattai in an airtight container once it cools down.

- Make sure the dough is kneaded well, or else the thattai will not hold their shape while frying.
- Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
